Presidential bet Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is questioning the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Anti-Money Laundering Council how come vice presidential candidate Senator Antonio Trillanes IV was able to access his private bank accounts, according to a report on GMA News' "Balitanghali."

“I am now questioning the central bank pati ang AMLC, bakit kayong mga taga-banko, bakit nasisilip ng mga militar, nasisilip ng mga malalaking... sa gobyerno, kaming maliliit wala kaming access,” Duterte said.

In a separate statement, the central bank noted that it has got nothing to do with the Trillanes exposé.

"We would like to categorically state that the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Anti-Money Laundering Council are not the source of the documents and information being cited by a vice-presidential candidate regarding the alleged bank accounts of a certain presidential candidate.

"We assure the Filipino people that the BSP and the AMLC are not engaged in partisan politics and will never allow themselves to be used as a tool for political persecution or harassment, or as an instrument to hamper competition in trade and commerce," the central bank added.

Trillanes has alleged that the mayor amassed more than P211 million in deposits in his joint account with his daughter Sara at the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) Julia Vargas Branch at the time of his birthday in 2014.

The senator claimed that Duterte did not declare the money in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN).

Documents presented by the Duterte camp to the media showed his BPI bank account with a balance of P17,666.98.
